Thankful Thursday

1. I am thankful for my husband. Not only does he provide for this family, but he helps around the house. He is truly my best friend and I still fall in love with more and more everyday.

2. I am thankful for my “friend family”: my best friends here where I live. Since neither my husband nor I have any family in town, they have become worthy surrogates and I don’t know what I would do without them.

3. I am thankful for our cats, all four of them. They are all rescues and though we have been to the vet a million times and almost in the poorhouse because of them, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Their unconditional love makes it all worth it.

What are you thankful for?

Thankful Thursday

As a special series in November, I am going to do Thankful Thursday, to let you all know what I am thankful for.

Each week I will reflect on 3 things I am thankful for.

1. I am thankful for all those things we take for granted, that many in the world don’t have. I was reminded of this last weekend when my husband ran a race for AYA, a charity that helps build schools and other opportunities in Africa. I’ve got a modest roof over my heat with heat, a/c, hot and cold water whenever I want them. We eat what we like when we want. And drive anywhere we want to go. I am thankful for what we consider basics, but others consider luxuries.

2. I am thankful Adelaide sleeps through the night and is also a pretty good napper. She has sleep through the night since almost 4 months (with a hiccup at 6 months, but right back to it at 7). She is now almost 16 months and sleeps about 12 hours at night and naps about 2 hours during the day. I’m not bragging, I am grateful and thankful everyday for this everyday, because mommy needs and loves her sleep.

3. I am thankful that I am able to be a stay at home mom, partly because my husband is awesome and provides for us all, but I will do my thankful for him post next week. I am thankful I get to spend all these moments with her. Watching her grow everyday is amazing, I cherish every look, discovery and kiss I get.

What are you thankful for?
